Outfit inspiration for my upcoming Sydney photoshoot!
Choosing the right outfit for your photoshoot can make all the difference in creating beautiful, timeless images. Regardless of the type of session you have booked, picking out the right outfit and colours can be hard so here you will find some guidance to hopefully make it a little easier!

Stick to neutral tones
Neutral colours like beige, ivory, tan and soft pastels always photograph beautifully. They give your photos a natural, elegant feel and keep the focus on you, not your outfit. These shades also work well with any background, whether we're shooting outdoors or indoors.
Avoid bright, bold patterns
Bold patterns or logos can be distracting in photos and may date the images over time. Instead, opt for solid colours or subtle patterns like light stripes or soft florals, which add texture without overwhelming the shot.
Complement each other, don't match
For couples shoots, aim to complement each other's outfits rather than matching exactly. Think about wearing outfits in the same colour family or tones that will go well together. For example, if one of you wears soft blues, the other could wear neutral earth tones for balance.
Earthy and warm tones
Warm, earthy tones like rust, olive, burnt orange, and mustard yellow are great for outdoor sessions and help to blend beautifully with natural surroundings. These colours add warmth and depth to your photos, especially during golden hour
Dress for comfort and confidence
The most important thing is to wear something you feel comfortable and confident in. If you're fidgeting with your outfit or feeling self conscious, it will show in the photos. Choose clothes that fit well and let you move freely, so you can focus on enjoying the moment
Layer up for texture
If you're looking to add some visual interest to your outfit, layering is a great way to do that. Think jackets, scarves, or cardigans. Layers not only create texture but also give you options for different looks throughout the session
Consider the location and season
If we're shooting at the beach, think light fabrics and flow dresses for an easy going feel. For a shoot in the park or garden, earth tones and cosy layers work best. And don't forget the season - spring and summer call for lighter fabrics, while autumn and winter are perfect for warmer layers and rich tones
By following these simple tips, you'll be sure to look and feel your best, helping me capture your true, authentic selves. If you ever need extra advice of inspiration, feel free to reach out - I am always happy to help!
